The BBC keep proudly saying "we name him" at the same time as reporting that security doesn't want him named. Don't any viewers find the media peculiar? Why not simply admit "we like people to die because of our behaviour because only one thing matters - a good story".
That is unbelievable. Why would the BBC do that? They wouldn't be so stupid as to let themselves be manipulated, would they? At least they don't seem to be giving it wall-to-wall coverage, unlike CNN International. They just won't leave the subject alone. In a report the other day, they flashed up a montage of photos of identifiable hostages kneeling in their orange jumpsuits and another image of someone in an orange jumpsuit in a cage. Just in passing, like wallpaper. I was wondering who was making the decisions on how to report it.
Delighted to see on News Watch that the BBC was bombarded by people saying exactly what we've been saying here - don't mention the man or his behaviour. Media, yet again, ignore all responsibility for "a good story".
