Why does Paul Gambaccini think... 10 Years, 4 Months ago
That Jimmy Savile was guilty of all the charges-that-never-were? It is very puzzling, especially after his own wrongful accusation. www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2977811...-Savile-failure.html

Ah Honey, he may have changed his mind somewhat since recent events - see the Police thread.

from what I read...he's comments are more that the pursuit of him & others is happening because of a perceived failure to 'get Savile'

there is an industry after all that is driving this campaign and it is very very vicious. That infamous former 'detective' MWT for instance is railing on about someone must be prosecuted...he is demanding that teachers and nurse and hospital bosses etc be strung up by their thumbs.

Remember the hapless former teachers from Duncroft could have ended up in the dock but have been formally absolved which hasn't gone down well.

## Of course MWT who claims he was in the 'pedo unit" (?) at Surrey Police as always walks a very dangerous tight rope. The spotlight may well fall back on him if he continues ranting about failures to catch pedos.

Gambo has now been on the inside just like Tarbuck, Davidson along with half the male cast of Corrue, once you have suffered a big injustice of beung accused of crimes you know you did not commit you can see people do lie.

Reading Jean Seaton's official history of the BBC at the mo - apart from being a mess in general, the section on Savile is disgracefully weak, lazily repeating tabloid claims as fact and not making the slightest attempt to add any real insight to the topic.

I prayed that he would be found innocent, ONLY because his outburst about SJS caused such heartbreak in 2012 - I wanted him found innocent (or even be innocent) so he knew what it was like to be falsely accused and to keep his vile, unfounded and completely untrue views to himself. BUT, here he is again, KARMA Mr Gambaccini, it can attack at any time.

Gambo thinks Savile was a paedophile, and has never changed his position on that. He should know - he had the office next to Savile at the Beeb. He may have ruffled a few feathers by being outspoken about Savile, and how he was allowed to get away with what he got up to in plain sight.

Ah Eric you've fallen for all the slight blurring of facts prevalent in society. No DJ "had an office" at theBBC - their producers had offices which DJs visited when preparing for programmes. They hardly spent any time at all there. I know. I was there frequently. If you wanted evidence of wrong doing, you might find it against producers or even secretaries but never DJs or presenters. And I know Paul's thoughts on Savile. They have changed since his personal experiences with false accusers.
