Sadly this malicious act does not surprise me. I have noticed that that thoroughbred owners very snobby and think their dog is the best out there.

My dad owns a mongrel very cute and friendly but there are dog owners who sneer and say do their dog we don't socialize with riff ruff.

Funnily enough, when I was in the vets last week with Pippin who is a Pappillon/Pomeranian a lady with a fat King Charles was ooh-ing and ah-ing over her until she asked what breed she was and I said she was a mongrel. She actually recoiled for a second.

I prefer Jet to the Crufts winner. Looks full of character.

Did you see how the owner manhandled the winner and lifted him by the tail? And the one whose dog was murdered went back the next day!

This year was the Crufts equivalent of the Fox/Fleetwood Brits.

I must say I thought the cute little white Italian toy dog looked magical. I did find the way many owners treated their dogs (with the magical exception of our British 12 year old) rather offensive; they handled them not as pets but as objects.

Ah! Hedda cleverly prompts me to mention one of my favourite ever short (very short) stories by Graham Greene called, I think, Beauty.
