That's all very well George but how ARE we going to increase investment and boost business and jobs and income?

the problem is the first past the post UK system which means the majority of Brits have been governed by someone they don't want for decades

Compulsorary & Preferential voting is so superior as people carefully consider where they vote goes down the line and eventually a government emerges which has the backing of the majority and cannot get away with much.

# plus a fully elected Upper House in which the voters rarely give the government of the day a majority & play it safe.

In addition 5 years is way too long and allows any (minority) government to so entrench laws they cannot be changed as New ( Ghastly) Labour have.

3 years so much better..18 months to get stuck in with the hard work and then the other 18 are spent worrying about being re-elected as everything is still fresh in the voter's minds.

result- you may get a wacko like Tony Mad Monk Abbott but he still to the left of New ( Hideous) Labour and not unlike Gorgeous George.
