I do like John Laws, the ancient 'shock jock' still under fire for telling an 80 year old alleged victim to 'have a lemonade & cheer up".
I mean what are you supposed to do when some bloke claims he was abused 70 years ago and says he hates people?
Now he is being attacked for a conversation with nutbag Hetty Johnson , one of those self appointed 'child protection" campaigners who scoop up millions in donations from governments , money which never actually goes to aid a real live child of today.

“I can only tell you the reaction we got here (to the interview). It was mostly, in the vernacular, that Hetty Johnston behaved like a thorough bitch,” he said. “It’s a word that I’m not inclined to use but listeners were using (it).”
I think, in the original interview he showed a lack of understanding about how helpless children feel when they are abused, but showed compassion to the man and gave him some damned good advice.
He also made a very valid point about children fighting back. If we give them the impression that they are helpless victims we put them at risk. However difficult it is, they do need to
be taught to fight back if they can and to yell, scream and tell someone about it, and the more confident we can make our children the safer they will be.
The current campaign to teach children to protect themselves seems to stop short of this.
