but I think the topic deserves a thread of its own - when I was falsely accused I got support from FACT - an organisation set up years ago for wrongly accused teachers and carers. It was - along with the Church - the main target for false accusers long before celebrities hit the headlines. The eventual result apart from ruined lives has been a dramatic drop in numbers of decent men and women becoming teachers or carers - which intelligent being would willingly go into the lion's cave knowing they would, sooner or later, get eaten?

Interestingly the Mail print version is a tiny paragraph buried away of P8 which implies either Dacre thought it not worth splashing or - more likely - they reckon it's a much bigger story worth covering in depth after detailed investigation (like their excellent Pensions spread).

Front page of the Guardian which is odd, as they are the leaders of the "You will be believed" approach. Doesn't it dawn on any of them that this implies people DO make things up?

Very often people know darned well that claims are false but they enjoy pretending to believe it because they like to see someone they are jealous of have their life ruined.

Spot on Honey - a very accurate point and something we all suffer from, even though we like to persuade ourselves we don't.
