I thought for regular readers I would try and recollect the origin of the regular Food Posts, before I forget all the information.
The first thing which is already unclear is whether myself, JK or Aslan wrote the first one with that actual title.
I actually joined in on the food chat whilst ending an eighteen year stint as a vegetarian and the posts that were being put up were very useful to me, as the food I was experimenting with I had never cooked and eaten myself before.
I cooked my first ever roast beef "live online", nearly two years ago, which is a scary thought, I have no idea why I decided to share this information at the time and I was highly amused by the thread that developed.
This moved on at a great rate when I started exchanging recipes with our then resident poster and Thai Chef , Aslan, I posted in a panic one day, as my onion pakoras would not stick together, and it was pointed out that I should have been using gram flour and not plain.
In all the food posting time, my favourite food has moved Haloumni to Kibbouleh, which is a raw lamb dish with buckwheat from Lebanon.
Todays dish, as I start to get hungry, is a fantastic cut of unsmoked gammon we have found, with leeks, deep fried until crisp, and cheesy mashed potato.
Ah! The nostagia of it all!
