TOP FIVE WORST GIGS I HAVE EVER PLAYED
5.A new years Eve party, with endless Paul Weller requests, in which I lost my voice.(and didn`t know any Weller songs)
4.A new years eve party, in which the comedian, who was bringing the midnight hour in, vanished at 10.30 pm.
3.A gig in which we were told to play a party at 5.30 p.m. to cheer up a poor guy , who`s girlfriend was stabbed at the pub we were playing in a week before.
2.One in which I played a very rough housing estate, and was informed to wear a bow tie, as it was a "posh" crowd.(They revolted...)
1.

What can only be described as a wake , prior to a genuine funeral. Absolutely unplayable.
I would be intrigued to hear of anyone elses bad gigs, and in funding my own material, as many bands do, by taking the odd function, I think what has occured to me as I write this piece, and this is particurly revelent to younger bands than my lot, stick at what you do, even if it feels like it is not going well with your own stuff, it can be sometimes no different in the so called "safe " market.
