The media is slowly beginning to realise there are thousands of criminals out there taking advantage of the sex offence laws to make false allegations in order to get cash. profits or (I believe this is most common of all) sympathy.

Psychiatrists are starting to construct methods of finding out when drug addicts, drunks, ex rent boys and hookers, lonely spinsters and attention seekers believe they cannot be found out when they lie about attacks, abuse and rapes.

As Abigail Gibson starts her 2 year jail term (2 years? They give life to the innocent accused victims), her boyfriend says "I think it's a bit of an attention seeker thing". He's convinced she's not evil, just has "mental blocks".

I agree with him. False accusers are often not totally malicious. They frequently believe their own lies. They are so greatful for the sympathy and kindness that they get from people who assume they are real victims that they cannot live without it; depend on it; shout louder and louder and more and more (frequently getting the details muddled and contradicting themselves - they will say in their first statement they only met the accused once; then forget that fake story and claim many meetings elsewhere; ages get changed... etc etc), without being aware that often the authorities monitor these varied claims (and therefore fail to pursue many claims, knowing the unbalanced prove to be dreadful witnesses in court).

It's a terrible sickness; an increasing problem; an exploding crime... and finally the media and the legal system are beginning to see the truth.

Just read this JK and think you were spot on then and it applies even more now - 4 months later.

I do admire the way you haven't turned bitter or vengeful against your false accusers.

Thank you Trawling; as you can see in one of the last paragraphs, it's often a deep rooted desire for sympathy and "belonging"... and I feel desperately sorry for those who made false allegations, know deep inside they were false, shout and bluster louder and louder in an attempt to drown out that knowledge and, in the middle of the night, burn in anguish as the battery acid eats away at their health and sanity.

I'm a great believer in karma.

Most end up mad or sick or dead or destroyed.

They can never escape their own deceit. Far worse than a prison sentence.

I too believe in karma and no matter how much you lie and cheat nor how loud you shout, at some point you will be hit with a thunderbolt.

And it's usually inside you just waiting to leap out and kill you.

You can't keep bad karma down.

No need for others to wish ill on you. Forget wax models and pins.

You are always your worst enemy and JK I truly believe your inate goodness has enabled you to come through all this unscarred where I bet those who lied or did stuff through malice or profit are falling apart like dead chickens.
