A few years ago they were virtually black-listed after telling the US public that Bush was clearly mental (or something like that).

How sad that its taken the Americnas all this time to realise they were right all along !

Just because they won those grammys dosen't make them right. Granted, they may have been correct all along, but the grammys arent awards for moral standings. I thought the grammys were meant to be about music. Of course, they are anything but anyway... I didn't like the chicks new album, thought it was very bad and would have found an album of george bush singing the hits of boy george more entertaining. If the grammays were truly about music then bobby mcferrin wouldn't have won more grammies than paul mccartney and the dixie chicks certianly wouldn't have won more in one night than garth brooks won in his first ten years.

I wasn't really commenting on their music (although I like them) - I was commenting on the fact that after they dared to challenge the loony Texan they were the subject of a hate / smear campaign designed to destroy their careers.

That campaign has clearly failed. GOOD !
