Generation Snowflake’s best but unintended achievement? 7 Years, 2 Months ago
Edinburgh University philosophy student Charlie Peters writes an interesting piece in today’s Telegraph. The shrill, pampered hysterics of today’s NUS are driving more free thinking students away from 'the cause'(of censorship and offence-taking) as never before. And instead of turning to the Left as they were once inclined to do (during a time when the student Left trenchantly defended liberty), they see it as a now-toxic brand of intolerance and authoritarianism. They’re turning to conservative politics, because it seems to them to be the only approach that refuses to compromise on liberty and free thought.

When it is common for students to be able to easily interact with anyone in the world via a portable computer that fits in their pocket, nothing seems more silly to us than cliquey calls for censorship.

That is why young people and students are becoming conservatives – they’re the only people making the case for a freedom that they love.

Swivel-eyed victim feminist student fanatics, with their imaginary 'microaggressions' and psychotic demands for trigger warnings and safe spaces, might just be about to encounter some strong opposition on campus. Could their tyrannical despotism in universities finally be waning? I for one certainly hope so.
