This Neo-Con plan has failed miserably. Heroin crops in Afghanistan look like being a record this year - and after years of a so-called "independent" "government" the truth is that the Afghan President rules little more than his car park (on a good day). Most of his cabinet has already been assassinated.

The Pakistani President knows that he's only allowed to remain in office as long as he doesn't get in the way of the co-operation between his troops and the Taliban.
