Both sides have even had death threats - it really is astonishing how social media has revealed the quantity of brain dead loonies out there. What on earth induces these people to behave this way? Clear insanity.

Agreed ... but the parents must take some responsibility.

Its a very sad ... situation but to keep perpetuating the misery is unbelievable and only adding to the child's agony.

Why don't they put the child first instead of themselves (and their 15 minutes of "fame")?

But you can understand why, when every so often doctors announce that somebody is brain dead, and they go on to lead normal lives.

Someone I know refers to stories like this one "inspirational tot" stories, always about some poor mite with little or no prospect of recovery but often the glimmer of hope that they will be saved by miracle treatment in the USA. I can't help but wonder if those offering such treatment to desperate parents are driven by financial rather than ethical considerations.

Yet trying an experimental treatment that had not even been trail tested. The parents milking it and you can tell they love the limelight.

I don't agree with any of you on this and have huge sympathy for both sides - this thread is not about the poor little baby but about the frightening trolls whose acid filled veins provoke them to be nasty. How can those creatures exist? Beyond me; they are simply not human.

Their child is dying. They were just doing everything they could (perhaps misguidedly) to save him. Like anyone would.

Think of the thousands of truly reasonable, sensible people who believe they have been abducted and raped by aliens. There's a screw loose but it's not obvious and you'll never persuade trolls that they are bonkers. To them it is perfectly normal behaviour (otherwise the screw would not be loose).

How is the NHS liable for that? Does everyone get the money back? Why cant they use one of the private flats at the hospital?

I dont think they care about fame. I think they are just delaying the inevitable and hoping for a miracle. We cant blame them for that, but going along with it just prolongs and increases their torment.

The parents look wrecked. I doubt they're getting much satisfaction from what they're doing.
