Correct, honey! .... the classic example of this is Sheffield Hallam.

Loony Labour were so sure that Clegg would retain the seat that they allowed a candidate (who they never even interviewed) to stand - because they thought he didn't stand a chance.

The students thought it a great hoot to elect someone who is barely literate (and an absolute bigot).
(The local officials had to rush to an all night Tesco to buy him a suit when it looked as if he might one, just so he would look presentable at the count !!!!!)

He will be gone at the next (proper) election ... if Labour don't have the guts to ditch him first.

I don't get why students from America come to England to learn production and serve tables in between.

Some here don't understand the university system/logic.

Many - or most? - don't get a degree in a subject that is connected to a future career.

Two friends of mine got degrees in Oriental Studies and Applied Mathematics.

But their ultimate and successful occupations had no requirement for the information gleaned.


Even Margaret Thatcher had a couple of degrees (Chemistry included?), that had nothing to do with politics...
