TOPIC: Brexit - am I being stupid?

Brexit - am I being stupid? 6 Years, 5 Months ago
If we Brexit (stupid) surely there has to be a hard border between North and South Ireland (or the UK and the EU). Which is stupid and absurd (like the rest of Brexit) and will create terrible problems - not just customs and immigration but the ghastly troubles? We cannot leave the EU - single market, customs, laws - and have an open border. If we had a decent Prime Minister she would understand this and say "Look; Brexit cannot work. At very least we must have another referendum to be sure the UK is aware of what this means".

Maybe Brexit will be the catalyst that causes both Irelands to unite!!! Then there is the sea, the natural border job done! One never knows!

The Republic of Ireland has a substantial National Debt following the virtual collapse of its economy, a few years ago.

It costs the UK Exchequer £1 billion every month to cover the net cost of Northern Ireland.

Unification is therefore highly unlikely - and the inability of the main parties to cooperate means that Westminster rule will happen again soon.
