I am so disgusted by the way that almost everyone instinctively behaves in ways that, essentially, protect themselves from media attack. May is a prime example. Media screams about something - be it charity workers using hookers or actors trying it on - and politicians, celebrities, other media desperately join in and pass laws, make supportive comments, scream as well - instead of calm thought. Bluntly, whether or not charity workers use hookers ought not to be an excuse to kill children by withdrawing donations. I get really sickened watching people toe the media line.

What should media do, discovering this use of hookers? Tell Oxfam to clean up its act and not print one single word about it. We call that responsible journalism. But we know the only God is "a good story".
