Not so, Hedda darling; many have fortunately been started by your good self and there are several others involved, including Honey and Andrew amongst the regulars. But I do have too much time on my hands. Watching others drop off the twig, it seems I'm in a minority!

I echo Hedda's point that sadly ITK is the overwhelming presence now and in my view a very dull and predictable presence...uber "pub bore"..

Forums have changed radically over the 21 years since we started this site; back then hundreds a day contributed. There are still thousands reading and visiting but I think most commentators have decided the shorter places like Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and so on allow them the ability to write in short sentences and, let's face it, simplicity rools. Everyone is welcome to contribute; only libel, malice or spam is removed or deleted before reading. Perhaps the era for this kind of Forum has passed, like the dear old NME. But I think we still have a service to provide.

I like to provoke thought, and think "outside the box" (which explains why most of my posts receive more responses than anyone else's).

Of course, hedda only started this thread because he's fed-up with being ridiculed about his Loony Communist posts !

Some people - Brexiteers, for example - would rather post rubbish and then hide when it becomes clear that it is an unmitigated disaster.

No I think ITK is most certainly a Bookies Runner or a Real Estate Agent, both being among the most reviled persons in the country.

I think you show great courage in saying this, Wyot. Outer reality is one thing. The inner world of emotion and thought is another. And it's not our emotions and feelings that are the real problem but the way we respond to them that can cause much trouble and confusion.

I seldom post,but do enjoy reading the board of Jonathan King.Also enjoy In The Know's posts,they get people thinking,and almost always get filled by replies,making more interesting reading.
There are jealous,negative types,Hedda is becoming one,Spee has always been one.Reading posts by these types can be a bit like sharing a lift with the fat,flatulent types on their way home from the curry house,an unpleasant excess of smelly crap.
