Food post, my favourite lunch this year.... 17 Years ago
..Fish Amritsari,Chilli Paneer Manchurian,Gosht Ke Shammi and Monkfish Tikka.(+ gratis rice and home made naan)

I spoke to the restuarant owner/head chef at length and he is one of the most together individuals I have ever met in catering ,he`s under thirty years old and really cares about regional varieties in, not only Asian cooking, but in regional Asian cooking varities in the UK.

He buys in no pre-prepared sauces, uses no colourings even in the traditional"Anglophile" dishes whatsoever.

This place was first class, but the sweetest amazing twist I have ever seen ,whilst doing food write ups, was, when a very frail old man walked in and asked for a teacake and a cup of tea.

The gentleman obviously couldn`t see very well, and didn`t realise his old tea room had changed hands.
The brilliant waitress told him she could do him a cheese roll, which he accepted as fine and she made him a cup of tea from her own tea bags.
He was delighted as he ate a spicy paneer flatbread sandwich with a cup of char, and commented the place had improved.
He must have been in his nineties, truely heart-warming to watch.

The Red Fort, Dorset. 8/10.

(n.b.2 points lost for messy cloakrooms)
