I did a marathon once for charity, it was exhausting and uplifting as well. I ran the whole last five miles of it by the side of a blind athlete, as his supportive runner had had to retire with a calf strain.
One mile from the finish line, the lad worked out where he was and bolted away from me!
I tell you what though ITK, the feeling when you get to that finish line is brilliant.
