Just drove past Gordy's old house at 23 Holland Park Avenue. I miss him. He was my Director on Entertainment USA and a dear friend. He also first directed French and Saunders and made several Cliff Richard specials.

I never met or knew him, but his work was always top notch, The editions of Top of the Pops were always first class. He later took over as Producer of The Roxy and in my mind turned that show around into something that was decent, in fact had the show been recommissioned and also allowed to move from Newcastle then I think it would have had a much longer run.

His partner Ron Jones was also a Director at the BBC, including six Doctor Who stories.

Such a shame they both went far too early.

I miss Gordon too. We meet a bar in West Hollywood one night, and hit it off as if we were soul mates. I went to England and spent a week with him at his flat in Holland Park. It was my 1st trip out of America, and he made it special, just like the person I felt he was.

I attended his funeral/memorial service still in total shock of his passing.

First impressions make a difference, and you only get one chance for that. Obviously, his has never been forgotten by me, and never will.

I know it maybe now dated but Entertainment USA would be good on DVD. I remember getting VHS tapes sent to me from Tubs with notes saying "Have you been here?"

It must of cost him a fortune in shipping fees and the tapes he sent to record things were from video shops.

I had to do some tinkering to play PAL to NTSC (A.K.A known as Never The Same Colour Twice) I remember it going to colour to black white with each second passing.
