Getting old and going really deaf? Chris Evans, doing his last ever week on the BBC, is now so gabbled and squeaky that he's incomprehensible. The content is shit (and always has been) but the sound now is so fast and rabbiting that it becomes a mashup of squawked sounds. He's decided, in his last week, to do every day as his normal party format with everyone else trying to match his machine gun delivery. It is absolutely awful. Thank God we'll never have to hear him again.

You never know. He might take over from Victoria wotsit!
I'm so old I've gone nearly deaf in one ear but I still look gorgeous and 30 years younger than I am.
I always though Chris Evans the most over-rated DJ of all time but what would I know ?
I;m a late night person and I've never got over having a day job in the Kings Road in the 70s when the only way I could wake up was via the brilliant Kenny Everett & Dave Cash.
He's on The One Show and speaks quite normally. By the way, Chris, when I made the pilot breakfast show for Virgin Radio about 30 years ago, I had no commercials (well, we grouped them into two sections and then criticised them - positively and negatively - in a third segment). Virgin wanted to pay me almost as much as you're getting now - but I refused to do it as they wouldn't give me total content control.
