TOPIC: Easy-Peasy Journalism.

Easy-Peasy Journalism. 6 Years, 5 Months ago
I know journalists have to start somewhere, but I cant understand why they write pieces of crap about nothing, and why the editors allow it.

For instance, the item below is about a girl with HIV, and how her husband "risked his life" to have a baby with her.

Only he didnt have to. They could have safely turkey basted her until she conceived.

Not exactly new news...
I'd be more worried about mad concrete cow disease than passing on aids....she's from Milton Keynes

A good morning from a foggy airport Honey...how the weather has turned into just a day.

It turned very chilly suddenly afternoon here yesterday. I had dragged my coat around needlessly all week "just in case" then yesterday went out in just a t-shirt because it was sweltering, and ended up freezing cold sitting on a park bench for an hour waiting for a lift because there was nowhere indoors open.

Why do cafes all shut before three o clock, when there is clearly a demand for them to be open later, because McDonalds and Costa are always packed out?
Then they complain that the chains are putting them out of business.

As a frequent user of greasy spoons and small cafes, I have noticed their usual opening hours of around 7am to 3pm.

This is to concentrate on the breakfast, morning coffee and lunch markets - few customers require tea or dinner in these outlets.

Most workers/customers will either go for their trains or buses (or to the pub) - and the hours allow the (often) family management to get away early.

I can well understand how it is more convenient to close early, but as so many are going out of business, it seems foolish to turn customers away. (to me)

More staff (and good ones are difficult to find) would have to be hired, to cover the additional hours - if there was a demand, in the relevant locality, for food later.

Very often restaurants take over - McDonald's etc. - and then, there's the important matter of life-work balance.

I was working 20 hours a day, didn't feel that great - and reduced it by half.

And now I even have time to type on here...

Good for you, Barney! There is no point in working nonstop if it affects your health and happiness. Take time to just "be"
