Yes Cat, an important (but tiny) step.

How about celebrities? FAR more reason for lies or inflation (vast media sums).

And when a complaint first comes via a national Public Relations person, there should be absolutely zero publicity.

Are people at last beginning to realise this?

I'd suggest the same with other easy targets - vicars and priests, foster parents, social workers, sports coaches...

YES - investigate. NO - don't use the media to trawl for "victims" who may come forward for very dodgy reasons.

Since the issue of anonymity was raised here I have become increasing uncomfortable with the lack of.

Beyond the advertising for "victims" I think in the mind of many people the accusation, even when not proven, remains associated with the person accused.

For an innocent person's reputation/life to destroyed because it's a "good story" cannot be right.

Not just celebrities, not just teachers, anonimity for all the accused in these cases.
