Most didn't vote for the government either.

But about 30 million are under 16..or however old you gotta be to vote...im 46 never voted once.
Anyway Brexit is gonna be awesome cos it will mean loads less tax, millions more jobs..ZERO immigration ever,no MUZLIMZ innit...no more knife crime or polution or bad weather..
And everything is gonna be just like the good ole days when Ronnie and Reggie god bless em kept crime off the streets.

Hooray for Brexism.

So just out of interest.. if we had another Referendum...and most guesses would be similar votes...with say 17m voting Remain...a reversal.. as many polls have predicted ...would you be saying the same thing?

Selective use of stats does nothing to enhance an argument...there are some who would point out that only 64% of those eligable to vote in the 1975 Referendum did...as against 72% in the 2016 Referendum...

...please try to be consistent Doctor King...we really would like to make things easy for those who come here, who may just think your political beliefs deserve more attention.

If a majority voted Leave in a second referendum, now that we have more information, even though I still think referendums on such complex areas are stupid as most voters have no idea of the details (I certainly don't; that was why I didn't vote first time) then, clearly, we leave. End of story, thank God, and on with coping. Many do; we would (Norway, Switzerland). But the first referendum was with the wrong information and three years ago. It's still quite possible the majority would vote leave, in which case we do. I simply cannot understand why anybody is against a second referendum to confirm or reverse.

So JK - you think that the views of those who don't bother to vote (for whatever reason) are actually relevant?

Just like you JK, who only denigrates the system, politicians, parties, ideologies, individuals et al - and those of us who exercise our legal right to vote.

Perhaps it would be better if all followed your example?

We haven't even left yet ..and the gap between the views of the electorate and parliament are as wide as ever...

A new referendum before we have even left Will cause more problems than it solves...we could easily be calling them every few years..

We have council and more importantly EU elections coming up.. .after those I think even you will grasp the reality of the situation...most of us just want brexit delivered...then if it does prove to be as you say a mistake then, after delivering democratic Will...we can look at it again....but we both know economically brexit will not be the disaster many predicted...even Tony Blair had recently said so...

Anyway interesting to notice you made no refeeence to your selective use of stats in your opening post...perhaps you will do so when I return from my rather tasty Tagine they are making in my hotel tonight?

Nope; the new referendum will clarify; if confirmed we leave on May's deal. If Remain we revoke Article 50. Simples.

But wanting to leave doesn't mean you want Theresa May's idiotic deal.

It is rather like the question " Have you stopped beating your wife?"

Why speculate about a legal process you refuse to participate in?

Should those who refuse to vote have any say/hearing, or just be ignored - as they do - to an established part of our legal system?

Ratified and endorsed, over the years, by all elected governments of all major parties.

Are you keeping up with the polls doctor King?...
The most popular by far is no deal over a bad deal....ignoring the will of the people has seen a good 10% knocked off the support for both main parties...and Roger Gale, along with many Tory MPs has informed me many moderate MPs are panicking on both sides of the House in case of a snap election....we do need a second referendum, but on voting reform...

A second referendum can be No Deal; May's Deal or Remain. Simples.

52 million did not vote to stay in the EU......again Doctor King are you guilty of the very simplified headline grabbing slogans you often warn us about?

A question to the Venerable King.. ..if appointed to run the Remain campaign, based on your previous success with the ESC,record companies etc ....would you stick with the failed Project Fear as your backbone...or would you be honest, and admit your aim was Euro Currency membership...and a United States of Europe?...
...bearing in mind the truth would not perhaps have a positive effect on the result?

I, like you, know nowhere near enough about this complex and complicated policy, which was why I didn't vote; leaving it to those better informed than I. Like which side of the road to drive on; arguments for left and right but, like Brexit, the overwhelming point is - it's not worth the bother of change.

I'm well qualified at university level in politics Doctor King.....your point of changing has some merit...but the current situation will not be made any better and keeping the battle against the democratic vote going...my compromise would be to honour democracy, leave on a No Deal...then if consistent polls in say a year confirm a clear majority to go back in then hold another referendum...your policy about a new referendum now would just keep these problems going...especially as more recent polling has continued to be close.. ..
We have a similar situation with Scottish independence...one side not accepting democracy...
