Why we need a Second Referendum....on voting reform...and fast..
We had a few referendum under Cameron...Scots/Brexit...and voting reform....we voted not to change our voting system....poor old Nick Clegg lost all three of those he stood for..
...but anyway it's not on Brexit I speak...but on voting reform....our strange voting system, based on geographical areas has worked quite well to give a majority government....until more recently....when it has not....it has many quirks...if replicated in a general election the last EU vote would give a landslide to Farage...
...while I doubt this exact scenario will ever play out...others will...if a new party rises above 20% of the national vote...or dominates regions...like the SNP etc,or takes votes disproportionally from one of the two big parties then all kinds of weird things can and will happen...
....it was the threat of a rising UKIP vote in 2015 that forced Cameron to promise an referendum..UKIP were over 20% and rising...
....Leave you with that...but what is certain is that...is that nothing is certain...
