Wrong,this is a misogynist comment. The standard is pretty good. Did you see the Nederlands Vs Italy, amazing headed goals. If you didn't look too closely you wouldn't think that it was a woman's game. A lot of male players have ponytails, buns' alice bands etc. now. There is a lot less play acting in the women's game, no fake diving and fake fouls. Ask Barney, if you don't believe me. In the men's world cup there is too much playing for penalties in the knockout stage, with teams just defending for 120 minutes, hoping to win on penalites. So far there have been no penalty shoot outs.

Only as ridiculous as the game is; feel there is an extension of your views on "wimmin" here jk. The womens' game has come on massively; really enjoyable and good on them...!

No contempt for women at all Jo; in many ways they are better than men; for producing children, for a start. But when they try to play games that men play better (built different) they often disappoint.

However,misogyny appears to be smack bang in fashion, if the crowds cheering and clapping Stormzy singing about "finishing on slut's faces" is anything to go by.

I'm perfectly happy for women to play and sport and for viewers who enjoy it to watch it but, personally, I don't enjoy watching women's tennis because often it's not as good as men's and I cannot bear the squeaking. Likewise women's football with arms waving and little strength in the kicks. Doesn't make me anti women. Some sports are better for women than men - netball for example. I loved it when the mainly women's teams played that slippery ice game in a world cup a few years ago.

But yes I do believe much concentration on promoting women is politically correct and not based on talent or ability; women newsreaders often squawk or squeak and simply are not very good.

I have to your words for it King. I dislike all sports, I had to follow it when I was in bar manager, so I had something to talk about the with regulars.

Football does bore me unless it's FA Cup even then a Premier League team always win it.

Give it ten years and they will all be blokes anyway!
