Just as Carl Beech is the tip of the False Allegations Iceberg (I think 95% of the Savile accusers were either exaggerating or totally lying), this story, buried away in The Times and ignored elsewhere, illustrates how British Police now ignore common decency and common sense and go their own way, usually with the approval of their bosses - often causing suicide, heartbreak or ruined lives and sometimes deliberately attempting to pervert the course of justice. The victim's family say they believe this was Gross Misconduct; I'd go further and strongly suggest it should be examined whether or not it was Attempting to Pervert the Course of Justice.
