Feted by the Australian media as he accused George Pell of being a "psychopath" which fanned the flames of the Cardinal Pell Witch Hunt seeing hin jailed on the word on one accuser..Peter Saunders hid his own sordid secret from the world..he had been accused of the drunken rape of a woman but escaped prosecution I guess as ..it was her word against his.

Indeed I read all the threads..fascinating and spot on.

My fury is that Peter Saunders had a critical part in decimating George Pell..while he was being investigated and with his "psychopath" claim (he'd never met him)

Saudners was presented as a credible commentator using his then Vatican position and the Australian media went ape shit includng "respected " journalists who sited Saunders as an "expert" and therefor his claims were "true and credible".


It's difficult to estimate the damage Saunders did to Pell..convicted on the word of one person..unlike Saunders.

I've always viewed Saunders with skepticism..now I see he is far more sinister.

I also expect his life is about to become far more difficult and I reckon NAPAC with their absolutely appalling support for him is on the road to ruin.

And I wouldn't be surprised if his accuser re-ignites her accusations.

## any sane sensible person who had been accused of raping an inebriated woman - an abuse victim- and then had the CPS decide not to prosecute would keep a very low profile from then on.

It shows the absolute arrogance of the man to take such lauded positons at The Vatican and so on.
In fact- I suggest his complainant has sat quietly fuming for years watching his arrogant pontifications and decided to blow the whistle.


Saunders made another fatal mistake..he accused his complainant of taking advantage of him. Like a red rag to a bull...Saunders woes are just beginning.

## this is like the phase of this whole sordid business. I can think of so many pitfalls for those who have pompously helped promote witch hunts against the innocent (and even the guilty)

Let's say you were an ex-copper who made many enemies such as the family of a murdered woman who were extremely upset about how her death had been treated in a TV show fronted by that ex-copper.

When people make enemies like that it's not an isolated incident..they make many enemies and these days so much easier to cut to the chase and say "he groped me in the lift"

The media will be there with baited breath eager to assist.

"Describing the drunken encounter, Mr Saunders told The Mail on Sunday: ‘She pretty much took me into a cubicle and she performed what they call a sex act on me. I was too drunk to stop it.’"

But not too drunk to make his way upstairs to the toilet with the woman.

"He added that his own history of being abused may have rendered him ‘powerless’ to reject the woman’s advances, adding: ‘I was stupid, there was too much alcohol. Incidents of that nature should never happen, and my use of alcohol is still something I’m working thorough with my therapist.’"

Inserting his alleged abuse and therapist into this seems quite sneaky and smacks of dishonesty. It would be interesting to hear the woman's side of the story.

It must take a fair bit of brass neck to pose with one's arm clasping the Pope like that. But perhaps that's just another effect of alleged abuse.

I hope that Pell's lawyers are able to make use of this news.
