I think Vettriano creates such a theme in his paintings that it becomes a focal point of the dwelling and if that is not the theme that is required for a lifestyle, it has narrowed his appeal.
All his works are of course brilliantly painted, but I can`t think of a house I have ever lived in where I would have liked one.
His art cannot be disputed, but it is of course a question of taste, I would be intrigued to know other fans.
Had I ever been fortunate enough to own a Hockney, the work would have been everywhere, confidently sat with me.
Vettriano makes me feel slightly uncomfortable, the visions show a tremendous passion, but also a starchiness exposed in a slight chaos.
Stunning accuracy, but that`s not, what I for one don`t really like about him.
Great human forms though and if I had to pick one it would be his "Bluebird" image.
