TOPIC: Harry & Meghan to emigrate

Harry & Meghan to emigrate 4 Years, 3 Months ago
Miss you already

As they contribute little to our society

Taxpayers paid £20+ million for their wedding

And £2 million to refurbish their gaff, provided free

Will we need to pay for security in Palm Springs?

Looking distinctly like a rerun of Ed & Wal...

Barney, your royal bashing raises more questions than answers.

They contribute a lot to society.
Why don't you try putting in the hours they do and bringing in tourism as well as doing work for charity. All whilst being restricted in what you eat, drink and who you converse with with major security watching over you.

Most people who slag them off complain about privacy invasions as it is.

The media have nothing to gain in taking any glee from these stories.
Why do you think the pair took to social media to reveal their plans?

Big clue there.

Is it the press who are destroying the royal family ( Again!?).

Even my own family is being torn to shreds over media issues.

I'm not letting go.

I'm not convinced H&M do!

But I'm really more concerned about the cost of the new arrangements to the UK taxpayer.

When relocated to North America (probably Vancouver and Los Angeles), who will pay - for instance - for their security?

Currently, this is costing the UK taxpayer £600,000 a month for 6 police officers.

As far as I'm concerned - they're free do do as they wish - but not at our expense¡

A far better expense for the country than supporting the False Allegations Industry. Good luck to them; they provide massive benefits to the country; they don't have to do it full time. Vindictive anti Royalist brain deads should shut up.

Anti-royalist? Typing only for myself - I am simply (albeit like many others) concerned about the taxpayers' role in financing members of the Royal family who decide to opt out.

Surely they must lose their income and perks (but not necessarily titles) - as they seek to become financially independent in other countries and jurisdictions?

Particularly as, in a very short time, the taxpayer has paid over £2 million to refurbish their Windsor abode - and £20+ million for wedding security; just for example.

With a combined net worth of £40 million - and ventures planned with Oprah, and for the Sussex brand - they'll be well capable of supporting themselves.

Barney,

They need protection, even more these days with the rabid media still raging. A media which should really be angry at itself. They had it all, the industry was doing well with advertsisng and jobs. They fucked it all up for themselves with the phone-hacking scandal and their vile treatment of others.
The rest of the media, rather than go after Rupert and the idiots who were their downfall (in an attempt to gain some credibility) they jumped on the bandwagon of nastiness and continued with silence because they relied on Murdoch for their copy and paste jobs across many papers? Were they all perhaps compromised by hacking too? They went beyond just giving the news, they took many liberties and abused people in the process and their games of dirty tactics where state secrets and dirt served their purposes and nobody elses has been pretty much the epitome of what they stand for.

They won't step on the toes of the old man with the goodies and they continue their venom against royalty et al. For that, they get no sympathy from me.
They hacked royalty and others and kept quiet on things when Harry's mother died and now they are regretting what they did. They knew the royal phone book was in the possession of the media since 1992. They didn't come out waving that about when Diana was killed. Did they? The fact she gave it to them could be seen as knowledge of knowing they could be used to listen in?

What we do know for sure, is nobody will lose sleep over the vile tabloids disappearance and nobody will die.

I'm personally far happier to pay the small sums to H&M than wasting it in so many extraordinary government ways.

My friend tells me that H&M are 'internationally designated people' - and, under UK law, must be protected at all times by the Metropolitan Police.

Fact: the Royals as a "conglomerate" bring in £BILLIONS in tourism compared to the £Millions they cost.

They're Britain's Kardashians but a 1000 times more interesting.

believe what you want but the UK..and especially London would be unbelievably dull & boring without the alleged glamour of the Royal Family, faults and all.

Just like Brexit will be a disaster...a Republic would reduce the UK to just another dull joint.

## Thankfully the Republican Movement in Australia never really gets off the ground as people know what would follow..another layer of government with an ex-general or politician etc as President boring the tits off us.

The Royals perhaps should par down a bit like the Denmark, Netherlands etc with their more compact Royalty.

### One reason I love about Thailand is the reverence shown to their King. Binds the country together even after a coup!

Harry's sin:

He married:

1. mixed race
2. An American
3. An actress!!!!

Meghan and Harry don't seem to have handled this well by avoiding clearing their plans with the senior royals first. Seems rather impolite and inconsiderate at the very least. It looks as if Meghan has found it impossible to bow to the rules and constraints of the royal family. Harry seems to be casting himself adrift on her dinghy. Is he ever going to be able to reclaim his position in the royal family, especially if their marriage doesn't last?

A sin, you say?
In who's eyes? Media?

I think anyone with an ounce of sense will see the difference between vengeance and truth

I said TSHTF soon (at Christmas) and it has.
It will get much worse. A lot of media will fold this year.
