To me, it seemed that LHH was presiding over a sinking ship.

Set in its ways - and incapable of adapting to new needs, technologies and trends.

For example, BT Sport send a handful of people to football matches; everything (including the cameras) is operated from their Stratford HQ/Studios.

BBC were slow to replicate. Their big white buses wereto be seen on Saturdays - taking up large portions of the parking spaces - in many football grounds.

The BBC played second fiddle (certainly in sports coverage) to Sky, BT etc.

Like Netflix and Amazon are demolishing Hollywood - and Spotify, the music industry.

Nearly half a million salary a year for what?

I don't believe one man works that hard in a role to earn that kind of money. Whether public or private.

The fact somebody within the BBC got a peerage is bloody worrying. What was it for? Not rocking the boat?

A nasty little elitist creep who has presided over a mass dumbing down.
But which woman will replace him?

Similiar things happened to the CPS during Keir Starmer's tenure. It seems these two directors abandoned the challenges of balanced and measured decision-making, allowing themselves to be cajoled and tipped over by the emotionally charged demands of feminist groups.

"Allow the media to dictate BBC policy". Very bad mistake. The media is not always representative of majority opinion and rarely representative of intelligent people. LordHallHall - being an ex Head of News and thus incredibly influenced by tabloid editors, has been an appalling DG. No backbone. Only interested in keeping his hair neat and in place.

Barney points to the obvious problems with the BBC but I think the solution is the opposite.

Trying to compete with the commercial outlets is futile.

The BBC should concentrate more on it's charter: to provide free and fearless news to the public.

We now have it riddled with fools who I believe are often auditioning for those ghastly outlets (just as Murdoch uses the ABC in Australia to train technicians at public expense and then snaps them up as soon as they demonstrate how good they are).

The BBC's unbelievable bias towards the Tories and it's ghastly parroting of tabloid media about Corbyn and others is an embarrassment and I believe HallHall made that happen even if unconsciously..just as that dame from the Antiques Roadshow (never liked her on that either) admitted they stuff her pathetic "talk" show with Tory supporters.

And some of the presenters have reached all time levels of insufferable arrogance. No names although Neil & Marr come to mind.

Asking the BBC to give people the truth is like asking a liar to be honest Hedda.

The commercialism financial aspect is dying and rightly so. Nobody wants to be associated with bad business or people — a point the media themselves often make.

The Beeb likely disgusted with Tories because they do Murdoch's dirty work and have been his perfect puppets.
Murdoch was branded as toxic only this week by a busineesman.
Funny though how the politicians are not saying it too, when it is the truth.
Instead we now see Boris trying to devolve powers to the smaller UK courts (the ones who are being crafty to begin with) and shaft our rights in the ECHR.

Today, I got my spanner out. The powers that be are getting so desperate and people are allowing it.

I hold the necessary details (and a lot more) and I will be using it.
And because I believe in transparency and I'm not a gutless snipe: mercedesblak.wordpress.com/intelligence-leak-update/

Oh fuck off BBC. I don't evade never had, I don't have a TV or listen to your shitty stations. I could easily go to one of your televised sporting events if I actually liked sports.

Staff at the BBC - you don't represent the nation just a fraction of the nation. Not everyone who don't have a licence is not "evading".

Wait for the backlash when you put on a levy on broadband.

Good riddance. Now for god's sake get someone who knows what the BBC was set up to do, so he or she can start countering the kind of rubbish stated above.
