More than half the world's population (c4.5 people) now fly yearly, making travel both useful and affordable - but fraught with new dangers.
Incidents, faults and accidents are, consequently, becoming the norm - largely because of the increased usuage.
Planes that won't perform have cost Boeing $10 billion, so far. Terrorists, viruses, drones etc. - now have a larger playing field. So easy to leave a vial, in the seat pocket!
What I have found though - in my wanderings - is that the secururity standards of airports differ dramatically.
From the Draconian to the Dickensian, to use dated descriptions. Some places, you're virtually strip searched; othes ignored.
Have terrorists noticed this, I wonder...
