Anyone any ideas? I want distractions. So no news channels, and no music channels (sadly, I've lost interest), and no podcasts (I have a few anyway, but I'd like some real-time chatter).

I though BBC 4Extra would be ideal, but my god it's dire: maybe it's freakish coincidence, but every time I turn it on there's some deadly dull bourgeois drama on: 'Listen, Guy, we've been through this so many times before, and you know my mother is staying here at the moment...' or else a politically correct lecture: 'And as I defied female genital mutilation, my mama...').

Is there somewhere a nice, sensible, no-virus-depressing station anywhere???

I like the Steve Allen show on LBC. It is just the gentle ramblings of a sweet eccentric man who doesn't talk about virus or Brexit.
It is handy for falling asleep or walking to.

That man is a poor man's Howard Stern just like Nick Abbott. James O'Brien was a school bully at school my friends school.

I tried to talk to him about on LBC, switchboard wouldn't let me on; what bastards.

Nick Ferrari never goes full on with his arguments or opinions either. Then again he ain't no John Stossel.

YouTube has excellent live or recent podcasts depending what your interests are. You can just listen to them in the background.

Thanks for the suggestions. But I want an alternative to news, ideally. I just want a station I can tune into whenever I take a short break where they're not talking tha same depressing nonsense, or else playing those ghastly plays ('Oh, Colin, please, the divorce will go through, can't you understand that??'). Aside from that there's just endless music stations and I'm afraid I fell out of love with music.

I don't think he can be a poor man's Howard Stern if he was doing his thing first.

I like Howard Stern too.
