fake news in the Daily Mail 5 Years, 4 Months ago
I currently live at Bondi Beach. I'm really puzzled by this story in the MailOnline ( really ?? ) as it's such a blatant pack of porkies.

Bondi is like a ghost town. The Beach has been closed for 10 days with barriers erected, huge blinking neon signs saying it's closed and a large permanent police presence warning anyone walking on the promenade to keep their distance.

I know the media is printing anything but such a blatant false story is really bizarre.

Did the picture agency con the Mail with some snaps from Summer (article says it was last Friday- overcast and not sunny as depicted) or is just the Mail wanting to publish a lot of flesh and not giving a damn?.

Beach bums! Sydneysiders ignore social distancing rules as they flock to Bondi to lap up the final days of summer - risking massive fines for breaking coronavirus lockdown rules

Of all people Hedda I'd have thought you'd be aware of the media hype on this CoronaVirus thing; a trivial though very nasty virus, as bad as - but no worse than - a nasty flu strain. Inflated by media and then obeyed and exaggerated by the gullible public. Yes it can kill (I worry about homeless, prisons, refugee camps). Spain just announced the "death toll" from Covid19 in the first three months of this year - 10,000. But media doesn't report that every year in Spain 500,000 die. So the 10K is a small percentage of the 150K. And are they separate? Or has the 150K dropped down? Did the average 150K in 3 months include the 10K Covid inspired deaths?

Normal mortality rates are not comparable with a top 12 deadly virus.

Just after Ebola, Dengue, Rabies etc. To compare the two is simply disingenuous.

Rates of 7.7% - for mortality - still continue, in addition to coronavirus deaths.

Were the 3 viruses, I mentioned - also trivial?

I have noticed that in some of the pictures of the masses "flouting social distancing rules" nobody is actually within two metres of each other, except for obvious family groups, yet everyone carries on as if it was true.

Ah Barney; that's what I've been asking for; please give us links to proof that, indeed, mortality is continuing at exactly normal rates and these CoronaVirus death figures are NOT included.
