Everyone’s Gone To The Moon by Percy Faith 5 Years, 4 Months ago
I was exploring the Kings Hits on Apple Music and was trying to find Everyone’s Gone To The Moon
by Sound 9418 but what I discovered was Percy’s rendition off the JK tune.

music.apple.com/au/album/everyones-gone-...6091316?i=1266091641

It’s really beautifully done and I think it’s in 6/8 time because the rhythm seems to be
One Two Three One Two Three if you follow my drift...

Here’s a question for the King, Did you use Percy’s version of Everyone’s Gone To The Moon in one of your Revvolution Movies ?

I seem to remember it.. maybe Pink Marble Egg???

Another vibrant and passionate daily diary video.. thank you JK
and for the story and music of Sound 9418 (interesting name)

It’s very unfortunate the Sound 9418 album isn’t up on Apple Music or YouTube
as I would love to listen to it.

www.discogs.com/Sound-9418-Sound-9418/release/3953278

Found some info over at discogs about it..

Watched half of Pink Marble Egg on my iPhone before until it stopped halfway through..
Probably my mobile data connection wasn’t so great...
Noticed the version of Everyone’s Gone To The Moon wasn’t the Percy version...

Need that Sound 9418 album !!!

I was recently checking out the year and month of Everything's Gone to the Moon (ties in with my last days at school) and got interested in the B side which I'd never heard until the other day.

Seems quite pertinent to the times we are living in with its bitter-sweet feel and references to old folk.

The backing strings on both sides are great. I'm interested in who did the arrangements and also whether it is a studio orchestra or an assembled group of freelancers. Perhaps you could comment on here or in a video.

You mentioned in one of your videos that you referenced influences from other songwriter's tracks but apart from the 'borrowed' final chord(!) on Summer's Coming I always like Everyone because it seemed such a novel sound at the time. Simple lyrics, well crafted tune.

I hadn't thought of that but yes WM - you're spot on. "All over town old folks are dying". Marlene Dietrich loved it, she told me.
Arranged & produced by Ken Jones, brilliantly (Moon would not have been a hit without his contribution).

JK when you were on a roll producing hits in the late 60’s and through the 70’s did you have a particular studio of choice and ensemble of session musicians that you preferred to use.
Also I came across the name Johnny Arthey as the arranger.. Very nice musical arrangements on these records.
