What is the point of this outdated institution. She looks younger than her years because she has the very best nutritionists and medical staff to look after her (paid by tax payers), and she hasn't had to do a days work in her life (Waving and talking don't count as work).

I think it's everybody's duty to get the very best healthcare available so cannot blame someone for getting the best if they can. Anyway my comment didn't wonder why she looks so great; it just said she does. To be quite honest, how she manages it is of no interest whatsoever. I repeat - she and Philip look great for their ages. Good luck to them.

Like serving behind a counter in Sainsbury's, working for Surrey Police, nursing cancer or stroke victims with the NHS (no thanks unless they also have Covid), or judging on a TV talent show, not jobs I would want but definitely real.

Given where we are now Robbie I would ask: what is the point of that other outdated idea/institution called democracy?

You think that existence is futile and enthusiasm foolish too?

Even though the vast majority of earthlings choose democracy.

Notwithstanding its imperfections - but because it's the best option.

No, I don't think all existence and enthusiasm is futile or foolish Barney.

Not sure what else to say; or how you arrived there from my post...

I was trying to point out that while an inherited royal tradition can be argued against do can democracy.

Not done a day's work??

Last time I saw her in Oz she went to the actor's training school NIDA (built by Mel Gibson) but it was pissing down with rain and us poor peasants in the media pen watched as she had to endure endless students "performing" and the most boring director groan on and on for an eternity.

And that was just the morning !!!

Always remember..they may cost £Millions but they bring in £Billions in tourism (not now though)..not my claim..official British Tourism figures.

And they are fun . Imagine life without them. I mean really

## Charles and Camilla are shaping up to be fabulous eccentrics

They bring in billions, I doubt it very much. Have people specifically been asked whether they visit the uk, purely because they have a current Royal family in existence? I doubt it very much. They may come to see castles and historical Royal palaces, but not because their is a current royal family. I believe that Paris gets about the same number tourists as London and it doesn't have a royal family. The climate is very similar and it is much smaller, so proportianlly it is more popular.

It's a whole combination of things about Britain..the history, the buildings and the Royal Family and their history.

You just can't separate a place from it's past and take out a major chunk of what completes the whole picture.

The Royals are a living unit and people go to Buck House and Windsor Castle because they know people live there (including Dame Edna )

Places lose their magic when they change.

I recall visiting Mykonos a few years ago..as a favourite place to go in the late 70s early 80s. I loved then there were no luxury hotels just rooms to let and small pensions. I hated the place now..6 star hotels everywhere..beautiful places but all the magic has been removed.

Same same Ibiza (ghastly now) and parts of Morocco..so many places homogenized, glossed up but dull dull dull.
