yes it's a great song and I actually love spiritual and religious hymns.
But it's clearly now fixed in people's minds, I would have thought, with slavery.

My solution to all this calamity is for all statues (including Winston's and Maggie's) to have really great plaques and even thingies that talk and tell the full history warts & all. Get people talking and maybe looking up more history. What's not to like?
There is even one in Sydney outside the Queen Victoria Building ( a lovely luxury shopping building..probably now empty)
It's of a little (non racist) doggie Islay that belonged to Queen Victoria and as you approach the deep booming voice of a broadcaster named John Laws begins telling Islay's history and frightens the life out of tourists.
## haven't seen anyone attack Queen Victoria's statute yet.
