Boris brings in a load od new stupid laws to cut down on the stupid infections when stupid Covid19 seems to be less lethal than flu or colds? Does he not look at the death figures in France, where the quantity of cases has soared (due, like the UK, to increased testing - who cares?) but virtually nobody is even ill, let alone dying?

And the laws aren't even published or scrutinised in Parliament.

Since March over 50 lockdown laws have been scribbled down under powers intended to deal with national emergencies.

Where or what is the emergency?

Correction: the legislation was published 3 mins before midnight, thereby upholding a key tenet of our laws: that they should be visible to and understandable by those expected to obey them.

If you don't know already let me please caution you that from today -in certain contexts - "mingling" is now illegal.

Anyone living in a house with 6 or more individuals, please note that you may not allow one further individual inside the house without risking prosecution - unless they are from a "linked household".

I am not sure if this includes the arresting Police Officers or not; but will clarify in due course.

Meanwhile Police Minister (or should that be Minister for Police?) Kit Malthouse has urged good citizens to phone Police if they witness bad citizens breaking the "rule of six" laws.

www.expressandstar.com/news/uk-news/2020...ule-of-six-breaches/

I am sure we are all agreed this is necessary to prevent millions of deaths; and please ignore "glass half empty" types who say that Police don't have resources to go to your house if you have been burgled or garotted.

This is a national emergency. They will be there.

Much as children were encouraged to report the appalling thought crimes of their parents under Stalin; they should also report parents who lapse into illegal mingling.

This may sound tough and counter productive for the children taken into care when they lose their gregarious parents to prison; but this is a national emergency.

Your Grannie's life is at risk. And The Queen's.

But please before phoning Police (non-emergency line Kit is quoted as saying but that must be an error surely?...) do familiarise yourselves with the long list of exemptions.

And make sure you don't mistake a "victims of violence" support group supporting in Hyde Park for a large unlawful clan of benefit scroungers.

If you can't tell the difference you could always ask them.

If you're on a march or protest, you're immune to it. If you're in a group in a park you're a threat.

Why can we take masks off if you're ordering a take away coffee, but can take them if you're drinking inside ?

Covid must be magical.

Yes but great news about the shooting/hunting exemption.

I feared I would not be able to spend Christmas with my wider family, but it turns out that all we have to do is organise a pheasant shoot at Wyot Estate and golly-gosh problem solved!

Could it be that the government is also preparing for the possibility of civil unrest after October 15th? Introducing non-sensical arbitrary rules may be unpopular but not as unpopular as bringing in the army.

I just think MD they can't admit they got it horribly wrong, and are trapped into rules and tests that make no sense and are not achieving anything.

Can state intervention prevent a virus spreading short of us all being put in individual cells forever? Of course not.

But yes these powers are very broad and have the potential to be abused.

Excellent choice.

I wish the media and anti gun lobby knew about AR-15.

I want to know what the AR-14 is according to Biden it's most dangerous one.
