This is the sort of thing the powers need to finally stop the carnival of fear and panic. They can exit stage left with the pretence of reason, and vindication of the "science" they have hidden their sacred careers behind all along.

Best to let them bow out quietly, unnoticed. Smile gently at them and pretend ignorance of their shortcomings; even as the blood count of lockdown continues to slosh around their ankles.

To have a spotlight shone on their credulous stupidity, risks them acting in even more destructive ways than they have already.

Let them slink away into the mist unchallenged and our lives begin anew.
