TOPIC: Christmas!

Christmas! 3 Years, 5 Months ago
For my seasonal festive celebrations I'm rereading the man who started it all but instead of Pickwick it's the more appropriate Hard Times (for these times).

Not Dickens as such but I'm currently reading Jack Wild autobiography during lockdown. It's interesting but at same time very sad book. Loved his acting in The 14.

Worth reading JK.

This is one of the best biographical books of the year. Yes it is another on Dickens (Peter Ackroyd's is the definitive) but it is fresh, fast paced, original, insightful and written by one of our best biographers and novelists, A.N Wilson.

Highly recommended to anyone interested in the great man, and my current read:

On books - for info JK just downloaded a free sample from Amazon of your new book and I couldn't open it.

It said it was not compatible with my device. I have an older Kindle device, but not had this before...

Mystery solved JK.

Your new book isn't available on the 3 traditional Kindle Readers - kindle, paperwhite and Oasis. Some books have a button on the amazon page which leads to a list of compatible devices.

Your book is compatible with the amazon fire tablets and apps on i-pad, pc etc, but not the traditional readers.

This is different from the one other of your books I checked "65..." which is compatible with all devices.

So people can download the book to Kindle Readers (if they don't think to check compatible devices) but won't be able to read it...

I am glad I got the paperback version instead.
I have gone and lost mine. I must have put it down somewhere weeks ago. Again.
