She looks very nice and honest in photos; that might be influencing us. Plus we KNOW the system is broken (check out Sally Clark and the baby killings which weren't). And we know many police are incompetent and some are dishonest, corrupt and criminal. If her case was in Surrey I'd be totally on her side.
Who knows about the strength of evidence. I imagine in such cases that evidential proof must be very challenging. There may have been forensic advancements since 2018.
Whether she is innocent or guilty, it is highly unusual to be remanded in custody (at the behest of your defence and the Crown) on the basis of your own protection.
I suppose it is a lot cheaper than keeping her under 24 armed guard at home...
