Woman pretends to have terminal cancer and her friends donate money for her swish wedding.

This is really quite common. I suspect it is about the glory and attention as much as cash, but if people can do this to their own family and friends, why do so many people believe that false sex attack claims are rare?

Because hardly a week goes by without something similar being reported. A tiny amount of people, but too many for the pretence that lying for money and attention barely happens.

Yes I am sure you are right in general Honey. I thought you meant there has been a spike in people faking terminal illness to fund marriages....The anniversary parties would take some explaining (and funding...)
