TOPIC: Liverpool Mayor
#203537
Liverpool Mayor 4 Years, 8 Months ago
Another example of the problems of overweight people but I'm disturbed by stupid Labour suspending him from the party when he is innocent (until and unless proved guilty in a court of law). It really is an appalling characteristic of society in this superficial century. They cannot wait until something has been proved - see Gambo and Labour (which he now loathes).

Rather like stupid Lord Hall Hall banning any plays for my music.

Stupid Society.

I don't agree either with the media being able to report anything until someone has been found guilty in a Court. They cite the "public interest" argument but I have never understood what this actually is?

What does him being fat have to do with it? Chippytits is a mostly affectionate nickname.

There are hundreds of other reasons why people might stich him and Derek Hatton up though.

Well Honey perhaps unfairly I've thought for some time (starting to sound like ITK, wherever did he go?) that truly fat, obese people have a huge problem; not just being overweight but lack of self control (I know much obesity is caused by chemical reasons) and the effects of lard on the heart and lungs (Covid) as well as slowing down the brain.

It is indeed an emotional issue, but very specific, so doesn't affect judgement in everyday life.

We have all got issues of some sort. No matter how successful and together we appear to others.
It is just that some effects are visible, and others are not.

A profound and accurate observation.

Well put - and well said.

I know there can be complicated reasons why so many people now carry so much weight, but perhaps a good thing to come out of this situation is that some will be able to do something about it;as it is obvious that weight has so much to do with the impact of these things.

Irony is, of course, that the panicdemic response has led to worsening mental health and shutting of gyms and pools etc. I read somewhere that national weight gain has been the outcome...
