80% of our fishing quota is held by foreign companies or where not foreign,a few companies on the 25 rich list for the UK.

unearthed.greenpeace.org/2018/10/11/fish...tter_impression=true

This is not about fighting for the rugged and windswept Noth Sea fishing families.

It is about protecting a monopoly for a wealthy elite.

Worth bearing in mind as we think about turning our backs on the market where 45% of our exports go with no trade plan in place at all.

But then this Gov doesn't give a shit about 80% of business, just the monopolies run by their chums; some of whom have done VERY well out of lockdown.

Christ..I'm turning into Noam Chomsky...

However British trawlers catch most fish here, as Scotland has the largest UK quota, by far. Scotland has the most to lose.

You appear to referring to English quotas only - and it's certainly true that the majority of these are controlled elsewhere.

But a lot less than 5% of the Scotland and Northern Ireland quotas are foreign owned - making UK fishing more indigenous than many EU members.

To balance the picture also, it's worth nothing that Belgium and Denmark (for example) have significantly higher foreign owned quotas than the UK.

You certainly seem to know more about fish than me.

But my broader point remains that this is not actually a fight for the rights of the people of the UK, but for a minority of the super wealthy. Whether they are foreign or UK based doesn't seem to matter at all.

So what is Brexit all about if it is not the people of this country?
