TOPIC: Early Brexit Problems

Early Brexit Problems 4 Years, 8 Months ago
These include our ports being jammed with goods in anticipation of no-deal. Felixstowe, for example - one of our busiest cargo ports - is full to capacity.

Container costs have also increased dramatically, all over. Usually, an importer will pay around £2,000 to offload a container from the EU - now it's £9k.

Even Honda have had to stop their Swindon production - as they're unable to get parts. With Nissan and Toyota also experiencing difficulties getting supplies.

Stagnated/congested ports - the new phenomenon

Caused by panic driven Brexit stockpiling

Roads next - the containers go on lorries...

It actually looks like we will have a no deal outcome now (changed my mind on this) as Boris will put his short term career prospects over the best interests of the country, and not take on his back benchers and a hostile right wing media.

The man just doesn't have it in him.

There will be plenty of disaster-meat for you to regurgitate Barney/VS over the coming year...

After lockdown and no deal will the UK be in a position to survive any more self inflicted wounds?

There be a deal it be called a soft Brexit - BJ does not have the iron in him to stick up what the public voted for. Barney if you like the EU move to Eire or France via dinghy.

On the bright side Wyot. Livu Square in Latvia is one interesting place and rich in history. Take a look and book a holiday for next year. www.webcamtaxi.com/en/latvia/riga/livu-square.html

Interesting. We both agree he is spineless but I see no deal as his easier option, rather than a soft brexit.

It would take balls to make significant concessions to the EU back home.

We shall see!

Personal circs and lockdown have meant I have been confined to these shores this year GM. All being well, the plan is St Lucia in spring, where I plan to do as little as possible for as long as possible! There is usually a majority from US in this resort and I enjoy their company a lot...But will keep in mind for the future thanks GM. But I am really looking forward to getting away - our host's pics have been torture this year...
