How many of us hold the same thoughts views and behaviour at forty years old, as we did at eighteen?
Revolting.

Just to say yes agree; revolting.

I suspect that Trump's killing fever has been spurred by losing the election.

He strikes me as just that sort of a chap...

You see the reason I won't say "death penalty" just as I won't say "victim" before conviction, let alone investigation, is because it is NOT a penalty, it is vengeance and makes us, as society, as bad as them, killers.

It's not vengeance, it's called punishment.

It's a pity you don't have the same sort of compassion for the victims.

Certain people are beyond redemption, why should the taxpayer keep the worthless scum for years?

Stupid; who ever with a brain cell would think I or anybody didn't have just as much compassion for victims. That is exactly the kind of idiotic, brain dead thinking that allows morons to justify killing people.

You can have compassion for more than one person at a time, Carl.

Where is the compassion for the condemned prisoner's family?

This debate will always divide but a stand out for me is why Trump (after a second death row inmate has been murdered on his orders overnight) is focusing on killing people in his final days in office.

This is a very deliberate thing, breaking a 130 year precedent of staying executions between presidential handovers.

The man is moral scum. A sociopath. If he had the apparatus available, he would be committing a holocaust right now; Mexicans easiest target....

Even if you have no moral objection to it, one day it could be you, your wife, your daughters going into the electric chair.
Possibly having been falsely convicted.

I doubt Honey, my partner worked for the police in both ROI and England wouldn't harm an innocent person or fight in self defence; my daughters are too scared to even steal a grape from a supermarket.

Your daughters sound lovely, but false accusations have nothing to do with the behaviour of their victims.

If you can be accused by someone you have never met, or be accused of doing something when you were not even in the same country,(like Mr King) it is clearly not your fault.

What about that poor man that was minding his own business walking through a train station and found himself accused of sexual assault by a nutter?

Nobody is safe! And once you have been killed it is too late.
Consider Mr King's original case. Only an idiot could think he was guilty of those particular charges if they were aware of the evidence fiasco.
Some would have had him put to death. Then what?

We are not talking about King we are talking about a murderer who has been on death row for many - surely his lawyers would of overturned his conviction on a technicality if he was innocent. Lot's of prisoners have been released from death row with new evidence emerging of their innocence.

It's the principle I find disgusting; those who feel it is a sin and a crime to kill people, urging the state to kill people.

Yes, and some have been proved innocent when it is too late.

Exactly, but it makes no sense regardless.
