This is very interesting if you read it closely; not so much a Guilty or Not Guilty case as the changing times and applying the morality and, indeed, laws of today to behaviour of the past. Very reminiscent of the Jimmy Savile scandal. I suspect, had Savile been alive, his trial would have ended in similar fashion, even here in the UK.

If Chris Evans (the DJ) has been following this, I bet he has been very nervous.

I think the thing this case illustrates most is the greed of lawyers who help bring such claims to court and I’m really pleased it was thrown out. In my opinion the big contributing factor that would have led to a dismissal is that the alleged acts all happened so publicly and in circumstances were it could never be assumed the accused had a motive of performing any more intimate sexual activity.

You're right BB but even worse are the POLICE enablers. When they actively try to assist false accusers. That can be lethal.

I know it has already been touched on here but it is not on that the Magistrate said the verdict "may have been different" if current definitions of consent had been applied. This will simply be read as "he done it..." by 99% of people.

He faced no trial against the current definition, so she should cast no opinion.

Shame on the Magistrate for doing so when it was none of her business to comment.

I see there was no massive headlines telling of his innocence, like when he was accused.
