TOPIC: Eddie Izzard, Lorraine Kelly.

Eddie Izzard, Lorraine Kelly. 3 Years, 3 Months ago
The reason Lorraine Kelly "misgendered" Eddie Izzard is because she can see full well that she is a bloke.
It is hard to see one thing and call it another.
Why is someone's feelings more important than truth?

Credit to Izzard he says it was a request not a demand and doesn't seem bothered himself particularly.

It is just the Mail getting on it's hypocritical high horse for a good story.

It is when you call a she "he" (as I did once in genuine belief) when the person is neither a he nor transgender - now that is embarrassing...

Yes - a total non-story.

Trying to be polite, a work colleague asked a customer - who looked pregnant - when was the baby due.

In fact, the lady wasn't pregnant - and my colleague's backtracking and apologies were endless.

Eddie Izzard seems quite a sweetheart.

I once mistook my schoolfriend, who later transitioned, for his sister, who unfortunately had not, if you see what I mean.

I've made that gaff myself.

Truth is in the Eye of The Beholder.

Personally- I think people can call themselves or define their sexuality or gender any damned way they want and should be afforded the politeness and respect they deserve.

Eddie is of course unique and fabulously clever and knows how to handle himself. Some poor transgender kid in the suburbs, not so much.

I lost count how many times I have missed-gendered someone, I got a few glares or was politely corrected but I always apologised after.

I was in a bar once and a cross dresser came in. He had gone to a lot of trouble with his wig, outfit, dress, make up etc. He was quite chunky/stout but carried it well.

However, he had a full bushy beard.

I have never been able to make sense of that...

Sorry..not a lot on today or places to go...
