....how the heck are they going to enforce the smoking ban?
It will be a typical drink sodden Saturday night in town.
Surely an unenforceable and very dangerous law to implement at that time.
I heard a story on the radio about a southern venue discussing plans with the local council about a smoking area being put outside of said venue, but the main objection against the issue was "encouraging foul language in the street"!(eh??)
One suspects the usual ******* backhander did not apply.

As a now teetotaller, and constantly failing giving up smoker, who has a total distaste for mass produced pub food, that is, of course, delivered in plastic containers by huge motorway clogging diesel glugging lorries, the simple answer to me is I have no need to go to a pub unless something special is happening.
I must be one of millions.
The incredibly smoke filled local in the centre of the village (too smoky for even me), gave away free cigarettes with drinks last night and advertised it on their blackboards outside.
We are going to what is obviously going to be a rain sodden festival this afternoon, I wonder if the smoking ban extends to that?
I had given up for a very long time before starting again, and smoky atmospheres annoyed me, and I think on the whole smokers are very aware that they have an antisocial habit.
I agree that smoking in a car is a complete no-no. Horrid.
It has to be said, that it has been a long time since I have had a comfortable ciggee in public, guilt destroys any chill out time gained.
