So sad to read this. A wonderful pub with tremendous atmosphere, a place where nerds and anoraks congregated and hear the odd argument which is better Lord of the Rings films or the books. It served some of the best ales also, government killing businesses as well at it's people.

Yes very sad and I am sure many more small, historic and interesting pubs are going the same way. We will just be left with Weatherspoons.

What a ghastly thought. Crap food, flat beer and whisky that tastes like it's been blended then stirred.

Not forgetting the ghastly CEO is such an arrogant **** meet him a couple of times through work.

£1.50 per bottle will go unnoticed for a majority of wine drinkers.
